About the author and his mission.
Paul W. Harris
There is so much that can be said for living, working and playing in the mountains. One is constantly amazed and often overwhelmed by their majesty and beauty. Paul Harris is a long time Aspen resident and Skiing Professional with the Ski Schools of Aspen and greatly enjoys showing clients and friends the beautiful scenic places and sights surrounding our valley. Come for a visit and you'll see why.

The more difficult and elusive the task, and the more difficult it is to attain, the more one must rely on friendships and relationships to succeed. Achieving that goal and reaching the pinnacle in any of the literary arts is filled with endless hours of solitude followed by countless hours of doubt. But the writer must remain undaunted in the quest and resolute in its eventual outcome. It is my hope that I can be helpful to other authors in finding the most suitable home for their literary projects.

Independence Pass, is the first novel by this author and follows a young Irish immigrant, Daniel Carrington, who is tricked into helping with an impossible mid-winter bank robbery by an unscrupulous gambler. The robbery, though successful, sets in motion a chain of events that put our young hero in serious jeopardy and in jail. Set in Aspen, Colorado, in 1889, this new western adventure finds our young hero becoming entangled with notorious gamblers, crooked lawmen, beautiful women, murder and an audacious bank robbery. Featuring a colorful cast of characters, Independence Pass delivers intrigue, adventure and romance in the Colorado Silver-Boom years of the late 1880's. It is a 'coming of age' adventure with plenty of twists and a surprise ending.
The sequel, The Silver Queen Vanishes,
